Thanks
again to those families that weeded and cared for the WCS garden this
summer. We have had another successful crop and are looking
forward to supplying the lunch program with many pounds of onions,
peppers, carrots and more pumpkins! With our Dance-a-thon and
seedling sale money we raised last spring we have ordered a new 12' X
20' movable greenhouse that will arrive in Sept. Our Green Team
will be meeting to make a plan for late fall crops that can be planted
in the garden and then covered with the greenhouse to prolong our
season and fresh vegetable availability for the salad bar!
Hopefully we can get more of a selection of seedlings going sooner in
the spring for community purchase as well. We are still working
on finding a space for our garden and greenhouse when we move to Huse
next summer.
